BSF APPREHENDED BANGLADESHI WOMAN ALONG WITH TOUT ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

On 25 July, 2022, around 2000 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion noticed a suspicious bike rider going along with a woman. When the bike was stopped and searched to identify the woman was unable to show her identity documents while bike driver was indian. During interrogation, the woman admitted that she was a Bangladeshi national and was coming to India illegally across the International Boundary. He also revealed that this person (bike rider) was helping him to cross the IB.


After thorough investigation with the help of NGO SALAP, it has been found that the case is not related to human trafficking.


The apprehended woman and the Indian tout have been handed over to Swarupnagar Police Station for further legal action. In a statement issued by the South Bengal Frontier, it was stated that the BSF is strongly against human trafficking and people involved in such smuggling will not be spared under any circumstances.
