Troops of BSF under South Bengal Frontier thwarted the plans of smugglers and apprehended 02 Bangladeshi smugglers with 300 Phensedyl bottles.
According to the statement, the incident took place on 2nd August, 2022 at about 2330 hrs in the area of BSF Border Out Post Dobarpara, 158 Battalion, Sector Kolkata. The jawans observed the activities of some smugglers in their area of responsibility. The jawans apprehended two Bangladeshi smugglers by conducting a search operation. 300 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered from the smugglers. The apprehended smugglers have been identified as Saiful Islam and Milan, Bangladesh.
The apprehended smugglers and the seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to Gaighata Police Station for further legal action.
Shri Harendra Singh Tomar, Commanding Officer, 158 Battalion has expressed happiness over the success of the jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. The officer clearly stated that nothing can hide from the eyes of his jawans. He also stated that he has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling.
