BSF troops, under South Bengal Frontier, thwarting the plans of the smuggler, apprehended 01 Bangladeshi smuggler with 105 Phensedyl.
According to the statement, the incident took place on 07th August, 2022 at about 1720 hrs, in the area of ICP Petrapole, 179 Battalion, Sector Kolkata.
When the jawans were searching for a goods train going from India to Bangladesh, a Bangladeshi smuggler was trying to board the goods train by taking advantage of the deep and tall bushes. The troops immediately apprehended the smuggler. Total 105 bottles of Phensedyl were seized from the apprehended smuggler. The estimated value of the seized goods is 21,560/- rupees. The identity of the apprehended smuggler is Imran Khan, Bangladesh.
The apprehended smuggler and the seized goods have been handed over to Petrapole Police Station for further legal action.
Shri Tarani Kumar Tiu, Commanding Officer, 179 Battalion expressed happiness over the success of the jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. The officer clearly stated that nothing can hide from the eyes of his troops. He also stated that he has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling.
