Manipur’s Saikhom Mirabai Chanu won a coveted gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022, followed by Mizoram’s Jeremy Lalrinnunga who also brought pride to Northeast through a gold medal.
Assam’s Nayanmoni Saikia was a part of the Indian Women team who bagged gold medal in Lawn Bowl at Commonwealth Games this year. Her victory has been celebrated across Northeast with pride.
Commonwealth Games remain a platform to display the energy and spirit of sports persons, thereby being the very factor of promotion of competitive mindset among the same. This is indeed laudable.
Northeast has time and again brought laurels to the nation with special recognitions to each state. Athletes such as Dipa Karmakar, Hima Das, etc. are examples of struggle and the followed success that we may be glad of at large.
