On 10th August, 2022, under South Bengal Frontier, troops of Border Out Post Narsaripara, 141 Battalion seized 52.5 Kgs of Ganja from their area of responsibility. Smugglers were carrying this Ganja from India to Bangladesh.
On 10th August, 2022 at about 2350 hrs, based on reliable inputs, the troops of Border Out Post Narsaripara, 141 Battalion, Sector Berhampote noticed the movement of some suspicious persons in the line of duty. The jawans challenged them but the smugglers managed to escape by taking advantage of the dark and thick bushes. During search of the area 52.5 Kgs Ganja recovered by the jawans.
The seized goods were handed over to the Police Station Hoogleberia for further legal action.
Ram Vilas Meena, officiating Commanding Officer, 141 Battalion expressed happiness over the success of the jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. The officer clearly stated that nothing can hide from the eyes of his soldiers. He also stated that he has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling.
