On 12th August, 2022, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Border Security Force and Coal India Limited for installing RO plants at 8 BOPs for providing safe drinking water to BSF troops and Border population under Sector BSF Kolkata. Coal India Ltd will fund these RO plants under its CSR scheme. The MOU was signed by Dr Atul Fulzele IPS, IG BSF South Bengal Frontier on behalf of BSF and Shri Vinay Ranjan, Director (Pers and Industrial Relation) Coal India Ltd
There is a lot of impurity in the water on the Border, due to which the people in the border area are facing the risk of having water born diseases. These RO plants will be installed in the next 10 months. The total cost of installing these 08 RO plants will be about Rupees 47 lakh.
The Public Relations Officer of the Border Security Force stated that the Border Security Force keeps doing social work for the Border residents from time to time. This enhances the trust, cooperation and mutual synergy in the hearts and minds of the Border people towards the Border Security Force, which is essential for ensuring national security. The main objective of installing these RO plants is to provide pure and safe drinking water to the people living on the border and BSF troops.
