Under the South Bengal Frontier, troops of BSF thwarted the plans of the smuggler seized 10.99 Kgs of Silver.
According to the statement, the incident took place on 12th August, 2022 at about 0910 hrs in the area of Border Out Post Dayarampur, 141 Battalion, Sector Baharampur. The troops noticed a man going to his field. After some time he was seen picking something in a red bundle from his field. When the troops called him close and searched the bundle, at the same time he got the chance and ran away from there. After that when the troops opened the bundle, 10.99 Kgs of silver came out in it. The estimated value of the seized silver is 7,03360/- rupees.
The seized silver are being handed over to Custom Office Jalangi for further legal action.
Shri Nagendra Singh Rautela, Commanding Officer, 141 Battalion has expressed happiness over the success of the jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. He also stated that he has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling.
