BSF Frontier HQ Mizoram and Cachar celebrated 76th Independence Day

On the occasion of “76th Independence Day”, Mizoram & Cachar Frontier, BSF celebrated the Independence Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. On 15th August 2022, Sh Binay Kumar Jha, Inspector General, BSF M&C Frontier solemnly paid homage to the Martyrs, who laid down their lives in the line of duty at Amar Prahari Shaheed Smarak and hoisted the National Flag at Quarter Guard, Masimpur, Silchar.

All Sectors/ Battalions under the command of this Frontier also celebrated this auspicious day at their respective locations and at all far flung BOPs/CI Posts of this Frontier.

Ahead of the 76th Independence Day celebrations, in order to ensure heightened security and vigil at the International border, BSF carried out Ops alert Exercise with additional manpower at border. In this regard strict vigil is being maintained in the entire area along the India-Bangladesh border as well as CI Ops duty.

BSF has also carried out a campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ under the Theme of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” to make aware of the local people residing upto the border areas of India by organising Motor cycle rallies, Foot Marches and people to people contacts specially among border population. BSF Brass Bands are also performing and prticipating in various events in State and distict administration events.

Sweets were exchanged with the Border Guards Bangladesh by BSF on the Indo-Bangladesh border through various places as a goodwill gesture between the two Border Guarding Forces.

BSF retirees residing in local area were also invited at BSF campus.They were greeted on this occasion followed by interaction with IG BSF.

The IG BSF, Mizoram & Cachar Frontier conveyed his best wishes to all the Officers, Jawans and their families. While congratulating to all the Seema Praharis, he mentioned the struggle of freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom. He urged all under commands to perform their duties with full dedication, devotion and honesty to ensure territorial integrity of the border and provide sense of security amongst border people.
