A plantation drive organized by the Voice of Environment in collaboration with the students of Badarpur Vidya Mandir High School


At about 9:00 a.m. today a very auspicious tree plantation program was organized by the Voice of Environment in collaboration with the students of Badarpur Vidya Mandir High School, celebrating the eve of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The program of this plantation drive was implemented to create awareness regarding climate change and its adverse effect on us. The team members initiated the plantation drive from Badarpur Fort. Department of Social Forestry, Karimganj supplied 75 numbers of saplings to the organization. The team then moved towards the Progressive School. Mohammed Shajahan, Director of Progressive School adopted a few saplings from the school students and himself planted saplings inside the school premises. Then Mohammed Shahjahan, interacted with the students and delivered a few lines on the importance of the plantation drive and its effects on environment.


Then the team moved towards Badarpur police station. There the students planted a few saplings. Officer in charge of the police station adopted a few saplings from students and encourage the students and the organization for the initiative. S.I of police station Safikul Islam Majumdar and A.S.I N.Ahmed also encouraged the students of Badarpur Vidya Mandir High School for their wonderful move towards the plantation drive.


The students then continued their plantation drive and reached Badarpur Civil Hospital. Medical and health officer Dr. Muslim Uddin played an important role in the said plantation drive and planted a few saplings along with the students inside the hospital premises.


The team then moved to Al Ameen Academy. Sir Motiur Rahman, headmaster of the school interacted with the students. Adopted a few saplings from students hands and encouraged all for such an wonderful initiative to create awareness among the mass people.


Then the team moved towards the railway station. Ajitesh Das, Area Manager of Badarpur railway subdivision, N.F Railway also adopted a few saplings and encouraged the team. Delivered his valuable words to the students on the importance of this drive.


Continuing the ongoing plantation drive the students of Badarpur Vidya Mandir High School along with their team, atlast reached Railway Hospital, Badarpur. Respected doctors, Dr. Shivashish Dhar, Dr. Ashish Kumar Mishra, and senior metron Mrs. Supriya Dey were present in the plantation drive. Doctors of the hospital encouraged the team and their spirit for this initiative. Also, encouraged the students for their better further. The program concluded at 2:00 P.M.


Gaurav Roy, Nigam Jyoti Choudhary, and Sujan Deb were present from the organization, Voice of Environment (VoE). Among the students who took their active participation in the plantation drive were Zahirul Islam, Kamil Ahmed Majumdar, Indrajit Basfore, Mohit Saha, Mustafa Ahmed, Shurabh Hussain, Prithijit Das, Taniya Afruja, Rubina Parbin and Srestha Das. Among the ex-students of the school those who took active participation in the program were Arif Ahmed, Gulzar Hussain, Rupak Ghosh, Rajib Dutta, Kangkan Nath, Shubhajit Debnath.

All the students and the representative persons who adopted saplings pledged to plant as many trees as possible near their areas to create a very healthy environment and awareness among mass people to contribute minimizing the climatic changes.


Renowned environmentalist, Mr. Moharana Choudhury conveyed his best wishes to the team members of the organization and the students of Badarpur Vidya Mandir High School for this drive and nation-building initiative. Also added join hands, together we can make the difference.
