Troops of South Bengal Frontier under Border Security Force apprehended 01 Bangladeshi smuggler.
On 20th August, 2022 at around 0445 hrs, Border Out Post Jhawdanga, 158 Battalion apprehended a Bangladeshi smuggler on the Border with 125 Phensedyl bottles which he was carrying from India to Bangladesh for the purpose of smuggling. At the same time jawans apprehended him by lying an ambush. The apprehended smuggler was identified as Asanur Rahman, Bangladesh. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl is 25,664/- rupees.
The seized goods and the smuggler has been handed over to the police station Gaighata for further legal action.
Shri Harendra Singh Tomar, Commanding Officer of 158 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict action to check smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Due to which people involved in activities like smuggling are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being apprehended, who are also being punished according to the law.
