The jawans of South Bengal Frontier under the Border Security Force apprehended 01 Indian smuggler.
On 22th August 2022, at about 1730 hrs, Border Out Post Arshikari, 112 Battalion apprehended an Indian smuggler on the Border with 50 Phensedyl bottles which he was carrying from India to Bangladesh for the purpose of smuggling. Then the troops apprehended him by lying an ambush. The apprehended smuggler was identified as Bikash Shah, North 24 Parganas.
In another incident, on 22nd August, 2022 at 2230 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Dobilla, 153 Battalion thwarted the plans of the smugglers and seized 100 bottles of Phensedyl and 25 Kgs of Ganja. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl is 30,700/- rupees.
The apprehended smuggler and the confiscated goods have been handed over to Police Station Swarupnagar and Custom Office Tentulia respectively for further legal action.
South Bengal Frontier Spokesperson stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict action to check smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which people involved in activities like smuggling are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being apprehended, who are also being punished according to the law.
