Troops of South Bengal Frontier, under Border Security Force apprehended 01 Bangladeshi smuggler.
On 24th August, 2022 at around 0100 hrs, Border Post Dobarpara, 158 Battalion apprehended a Bangladeshi smuggler on the Border with 50 Phensedyl bottles which he was carrying from India to Bangladesh for the purpose of smuggling. Then the troops apprehended him by lying an ambush. The apprehended smuggler was identified as Noor Hussain, Bangladesh.
In another incident, on 23rd August 2022 at about 1630 hrs, the troops of the Border Out Post Gede, 54 Battalion thwarted the plans of the smugglers and seized 180 bottles of Phensedyl and 36 Kgs of Ganja. The estimated value of the confiscated Phensedyl is 47,221/- rupees
The apprehended smugglers and the confiscated goods have been handed over to Police Station Gaighata and Custom Office Banpur respectively for further legal action.
South Bengal Frontier Spokesperson stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict action to check smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which people involved in activities like smuggling are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being apprehended, who are also being punished according to the law.
