Red Horn Division of Gajraj corps has carried out various outreach activities for creating awareness and motivating students to join NDA/IMA/OTA since Mar 2022. The aim was to identify potential students, train them for entrance examination and provide an opportunity to transform their lives. Multiple visits and lectures were organized across 12 districts in Lower Assam & two districts in Meghalaya.
In the process, Indian Army personnel visited over 104 schools and colleges and interacted with over 7900 Boys and Girls students. 2290 students were screened in the initial process, out of which 650 students were selected. A total of 641 applications for NDA/ CDS have been filled which includes 431 boys and 210 girls. Students were grouped into 12 geographical clusters with a nodal school/ college as part of each cluster. In the hybrid education phase which was conducted between 12 June to 12 August 2022, self-study was organised on week days followed by weekend contact classes at 12 locations for mentoring. Students were provided with individual study material and Whatsapp groups were formed for further guidance.
The full time residential contact phase has commenced at Gerua , Tamulpur from 20 August – 02 September 22. A total of 152 students including 93 boys and 59 girls are attending the same.
