Indian Army continues search operation for “Missing Mountaineer” Tapi Mra

The Indian Army has released the update with reference to search and rescue of missing mountaineer Tapi Mra. As of Sunday, it was the third day in the mission.

Till Sunday evening, group 1 makes progress short of Yarchum. Due to extremely inclement weather, party could not cross the confluence of KAMENG R & WAPRIYANG BUNG.

Yesterday morning, the party established an improvised, 30 metre wide crossing, using their expert mountaineering & river crossing skills.

This has been regarded as the most challenging part of the foot induction route. Meanwhile, Group 2 has also successfully reached Longchu on its first day of induction.

It has also been informed that, Heli SAR Team continues to remain on Standby at Seppa on a 30 mins notice to induct directly to Takte Base Camp & commence its search mission in the area of Camp 2.

For yesterday it was planned, on the 4th day Group 1 will continue to March forward to Yarchum.

Also, To support the effort of Group 1, Group 2 will follow behind and reach Korongtung, as per plan.

And, Heli SAR Team continues to remain on Standby at Seppa on a 30 mins notice to induct directly to Takte Base Camp & commence its search mission in the area of Camp 2.
