Along with the security of the International Boundary, BSF troops are also performing the responsibility of security of the people living on border. Ever since the rainy season has started, snakes have wrecked havoc in this area. Every day one or the other incident is coming fore about snake bites. But the BSF jawans not only saved their lives by arranging timely treatment in the local Govt hospitals at the right time but also saved their family from the psychological trauma. For this reason, BSF has ruled the hearts of the people.
One in the same order, the incident took place at 1130 hrs on September 05, 2022 at Kutipara village (Shikarpur) under responsibility area of 86 Battalion BSF, Sector Berhampur, when a 51 years old man namely Bibhas Mondal, S/o- Biren Mondal, was doing some household works. Suddenly, he was bitten by a poisonous snake. His family members requested the Company Commander of Border Out Post Shikarpur for help, the Company Commander without any delay sent a BSF ambulance along with a nursing assistant to Bibhas Mondal’s house. After providing him first aid, evacuated him to Government Rural Hospital Karimpur for better treatment. The patient’s condition is stated to be stable.
The relatives of Bibhas Mondal expressed their gratitude to the Border Security Force and said that if the BSF had not helped at the right time, the snake venom would have spread all over the body of Bibhas Mondal, which could have caused serious untoward incident.
Sh. Surendra Kumar, Commanding Officer, 86 Battalion stated that our jawans take full care of the security of the people along with the security of the International Boundary. Incidents of snake bites are continuously coming to the fore for the last few days. Along with defeating the spirits of the smugglers, the spirit of the jawans is worth appreciating , who are presenting a perfect example of humanity. In such type of situation, the BSF troops evacuate the patients to the hospital at the right time and got them treated and saved their lives. Officer stated that the BSF troops are standing shoulder to shoulder with the border people in case of any untoward incident.
