BSF THWARTED SMUGGLING ATTEMPT OF GOLD BY HIDING IN THE SPRAY MACHINE, SEIZED 19 GOLD BISCUITS WEIGHING 2.216 KG.

Smugglers are adopting new modus operandi everyday to get success in their smuggling attempt. But the vigilant troops of the Border Security Force are always one step ahead of the smugglers. In one such incident, on 07 September 2022, the troops of Border Out Post Mama Bhagina, 68 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier on the basis of reliable information, launched a special search operation. In which 19 Gold biscuits being smuggled by hiding in the spray machine were recovered. These gold biscuits were brought by a Bangladeshi smuggler who ran away towards Bangladesh on being challenged by BSF troops leaving behind the spray machine. The total weight of the seized gold biscuits is 2.216 Kg whose market value is approx Rs 1,14,02,503/-.

The seized gold biscuits have been handed over to the Customs Office Bagdah.

Shri Yogendra Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion said that day by day smugglers try to smuggle in new ways on the Indo-Bangladesh border, but due to the alertness of our troops, their plans get foiled. He further said that we are fully committed to prevent cross-border crimes.
