In the first incident, on the basis of reliable information, on 12th & 13th September, 2022, alert troops of Border Out Posts Madhupur and Magurkona of 68 Battalion apprehended 02 Bangladeshi nationals while crossing the international Border illegally. They were identified as Arafat Hossain (20), Masood Ahmed (22) Bangladesh.
During interrogation, Arafat Hussain revealed that a month ago he had come to India to earn money but was going back to Bangladesh due to ill health of his mother. He further revealed that for a month he had lived in Moni Mausi’s Kinnar group in Medanipur, West Bengal. At the same time, Masood Ahmed revealed that he was coming to India to visit the historical places of India. But apprehended by BSF on the Border.
In another incident, on 13th September, 2022 at around 0535 hrs, based on a reliable information, the troops Border Out Post Kumari, 08 Battalion apprehended a woman with her girl child while entering into Indian boundary. The apprehended woman and the girl child were identified as Pushpita Majumdar (23) and her three-year-old daughter Prayanti Mitra, respectively, from Bangladesh.
During interrogation she revealed that she and her husband live illegally in Madhyamgram, West Bengal. Today she was coming to India after meeting her parents in Bangladesh but apprehended by BSF.
The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the BGB as a gesture of goodwill and humanity.
Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict action to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh Border, due to which some people are being apprehended. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are handed over to each other.
