On 13th & 14th September, 2022, on the basis of reliable information, alert troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur, 68 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, apprehended 02 Bangladeshi women who were crossing the International Border illegally They were identified as Razia Bano (18) and Hamida Akhtar (34) from Bangladesh.
During interrogation, Razia Bano revealed that she had come to India in 2016. She revealed that she lived with her uncle and studied in Ashok Nagar, West Bengal and was going back to Bangladesh today. At the same time, Hamida Akhtar revealed that she was coming to India in search of work. But apprehended by BSF on the Border.
The apprehended Bangladeshi women were handed over to the BGB as a gesture of goodwill and humanity.
Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh Border, due to which some people are being apprehended. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are handed over to each other.
