Farmer Producer Companies from North East participate in Annapoorna Anufood Festival held at Mumbai from 14-16th September

North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC) under Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) with assistance from the North Eastern Council steered the North East (NE) pavilion at the Annapoorna Anufood Festival at Mumbai from 14-16 September 2022. The International food festival, which was inaugurated by Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Food Processing and Industries of India, saw active participation from several countries, states of India, government and private companies.

Produce of the North East were on display at the food festival. The items on display included the 80 plus items in the retail range of NERAMAC. Members of Amik Ringya Farmer Producer Company Ltd, from Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh and entrepreneurs from Mizoram and Meghalaya were given an opportunity to display their processed food products. Chefs of the North East Slow Food and Agrobiodiversity Society (NESFAS), Shillong has setup stalls on culinary treat to the visitors with Naga, Khasi and Assamese delicacies. The event generated tremendous inquisitiveness towards spices of the NER among the visitors. The average footfall at the pavilion was around 4000 per day. The food festival is providing opportunities to FPCs, entrepreneurs, start-ups and highlighting the uniqueness of the NER as a whole.
