On 20th September, 2022, on the basis of reliable information, troops of Border Out Post Kadipur, 54 Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier, apprehended a smuggler with 02 gold biscuits. The confiscated biscuits weight is 233.400 grams and estimated value is 11.64 lakh rupees. The apprehended smuggler was identified as Hafeezul Mandal (28), District Nadia.
During interrogation, the smuggler revealed that he was bringing these biscuits from Bangladesh. But enroute apprehended by BSF on the Border.
The Commanding Officer of the 54 Battalion stated that the BSF is constantly trying to stop smuggling along the Border and has also got success in this task. Due to which people indulged in crimes like smuggling are constantly being apprehended.
