Guwahati: Special Durga Puja at “Rest Camp Kalibari” two years post COVID pandemic

Durga Puja is an occasion of joy for every Indian. The Hindu bengali community celebrates this holy festival with added enthusiasm. Puja celebrations in Guwahati witness decorations and festive spirit.

The Durga Puja pandal of rest camp Kalibari will be decorated like the temple of Nabadwip.

It is after two years of COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions, residents of Assam gear up to celebrate the biggest festival of the state with full flavor and grandeur once again. This year, the 5-day long festival of Durga Puja starts on October 1.

Meanwhile, Restcamp Kalibari Durga Puja is a famous puja in the area. many people come from far and wide to see this puja. Last two years Restcamp Kalibari Durga Puja was done very normally due to Corona. Fair was not allowed.

Additionally, a huge fair is organized on the Kali Bari temple premises during Durga Puja. This fair is very interesting for children. The administration and puja committee organized parking for the visitors.

Durga Puja Committee President Naren Sen said that since 2012 he has been holding the post of President and has been working on the development of Rest Camp Kalibari. This time around 12 feet Durga idol will be made. His work is going on fast.

The idol will be made by Vishnu Pal. The pandal will be built by Bhaskar Haldar of West Bengal. The lighting will be well-decorated and the puja pandal will have CCTV cameras all around the puja mandap area. The fifth day will be inaugurated by chanting and there will be cultural programs every day.
