A function at Imphal was organized to commemorate the 1st death anniversary of Late Athuan Abonmai at Memorial Park,Grace colony,Tarung.It was organized by John Pamei and Majabung Gangmei alongwith family members of the deceased.
Advisor and former president of apex Zeliangrong Naga body, Athuan Abonmai, was gunned down in Tamenglong district last year after being abducted by unknown persons.
This ceremony was supported by a large no of CSOs of Manipur. Manipur Muslim Welfare Organization (MMWO), All Manipur Christian Organization(AMCO),Hill Area Council (HAC) and few Kuki based CSO too attended this programme.
Approximately 2000 specators attended the event.
CM of Manipur N. Biren Singh also graced the occasion by his presence. He appealed to the people to work for development of Manipur and remember the good work of late Abonmai.
The event ended with closing prayers by the pastor.
A large number of people had travelled from Village Lamlabato Imphal to attend the event .
Floral tributes were also given in that large gathering.
