BSF SEIZES HUGE QUANTITY OF NARCOTICS ON INDO-BANGLADESH INTERNATIONAL BORDER

The troops of 35 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier, while on duty seized 14.35 kg of narcotics red, white, black, and brown respectively. According to information smugglers were trying to cross these substance from India to Bangladesh. The value of the seized narcotics is being told in crores of rupees.

On 21st September, 2022, on the reliable and accurate information of the BSF’s intelligence branch, troops of Border Out Post Atrosia, 35 Battalion conducted a search operation. The troops came to know that some smugglers are trying to smuggle the contraband substance to Bangladesh and for this the smugglers have hidden the suspicious substance in a house under construction in Kalikapur village near the Border Out Post Atrosia. As soon as the information was received, the troops cordoned off the house from all sides and searched the house along with the member of the village. During the search, a total of 14.35 kg of narcotics of different colors was found from the said house. Apart from this, 18 bottles of brucine anhydrous found which are used to make intoxicants.

The confiscated narcotics brought to the Border Out Post Atrosia. On examination of the seized narcotics,methyldioxophil, propanone, piperonal, and phenylacetic acid were found in it. Seized narcotics have been handed over to Police Station Lalgola for further legal action.

The Commanding Officer of 35 Battalion expressed happiness over the alertness of his troops and stated that his troops are fully determined and committed to prevent cross Border crimes and smuggling.
