On the intervening night of 23/24 September, 2022, 06 Bangladeshi nationals were detained by alert troops of Border Outposts Jeetpur, Ranghat and Madhupur, 68 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier, while illegally crossing the International Border.
During interrogation, it was come to know that some of them were coming to India in search of work and some were returning to Bangladesh. All of them were taken into custody by BSF troops while crossing the Border.
All the apprehended Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the BGB as a gesture of humanity and goodwill.
The Commanding Officer of the 68 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and to maintain the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Force of both the countries, some innocent Bangladeshis are handed over to the BGB safely.
