BSF FREES RARE SPECIES OF BIRDS FROM THE CLUTCHES OF SMUGGLERS

On 9th October’ 2022, at around 1820, troops of Border Out Post Dakotia, 82 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier rescued 09 rare species of birds from the clutches of smugglers, which were being brought from Bangladesh to India by the smugglers. When the jawans chased the smugglers, they left the box and fled from the spot taking advantage of the thick darkness and bushes. When the wooden boxes were opened, 04 black cockatoos, 04 toucans and 01 marabou stork of rare species were found.

The seized rare species of birds have been handed over to the Forest Department, Krishnanagar.

The Commanding Officer of the 82 Battalion stated that our jawans are taking strict measures to prevent any kind of smuggling on the Border. He stated in clear words that we will not allow smuggling from our area under any circumstances.
