Double Football World Cup winner iconic Brazilian winger Marcos Evangelista de Morais, known as Cafu to the world, visited Eden Gardens today.
Cafu met CAB President Snehasish Ganguly. Mr Ganguly received him with a bouquet of flowers and a memento.
Later Mr Ganguly said: “It is a privilege to meet a legendary footballer like Cafu. He was one of Brazil’s elite crop footballers who won hearts with fluid playing style. He was like the engine of the team with an unending reserve of energy. It was a privilege to meet him.”
Cafu spent a few minutes in CAB President’s room exchanging pleasentaries before going to the lower tier of Eden Gardens where he took a few pictures and watched the Mumbai Himachal final of Mushtaq Ali T20 Championship. He was charmed by the majestic Eden Gardens.
He also hoped to return to the city that loved football so much and watch a match.
