Corruption is like a cancer, a cancer that eats away its citizen’s faith in democracy, diminishes the instinct for innovation and creativity. With the aim of Corruption, free India for a developed Nation Vigilance Awareness Week concluded at all NER Airports today.
A series of activities were conducted during the week by Airports Authority of India and Regional Headquarter, NER Guwahati. The participation of school children, local community with AAI employees was encouraging. Drawing, painting, slogan, speech, quiz and similar activities were carried out in the school and colleges nearby Airports and in AAI offices & its establishments.
Concluding the vigilance week 2022, Shri Sanmukh Jugani, Regional Executive Director, AAI congratulated all the winners, participants and specially thanked the organisers of the event, Vigilance Department, AAI. It was a successful event with enlighting sessions by the chief guest, faculties and the speakers who graced the occasion on different days. We should adapt awareness culture to improve our work. Messages and lectures to the students and children will pave way for corruption free India as the young minds are future citizen and should be a good citizen of the country, he added.
‘I believe that lectures and message by the panellist will help employees in corruption free work culture and propagate the message of vigilance awareness amongst all,’ Shri Jugani said addressing the participants at AAI’s regional Headquarter, Guwahati.
Similar activities were observed at all North East India Airports.
Dibrugarh Airport along with its stakeholder organised Vigilance awareness week every year to spread integrity in all sphere of life. This year Vigilance awareness week organised by Dibrugarh Airport management between 31st October to 6th November. The awareness week commenced by commemorating the birth anniversary of “Lauh Purush Shri Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel”.
Cycle Run for unity was organised by Airport fraternity on 31st October. To make this day memorable between esteemed passenger and Airport fraternity Uni-Tea counter along with a selfie counter was also organised at several airports. With the theme of Corruption, free India for a developed Nation Integrity pledge among all AAI employee and all stakeholders was administered in presence of Airport Director of all airports.
The Airport fraternity also organised interactive discussion among its AAI officials and all stakeholders working at Dibrugarh Airport creating awareness for the corruption free India. Further Slogan writing competition as well as Essay writing competition was also organised among all employees of AAI.
As a part of Vigilance awareness week Dibrugarh, Donyi Polo Hollongi, Imphal, Dimapur, Lilabari, Shillong, Tezpur and all other Airports also organised an Awareness Gram Sabha for dissemination of information regarding menace of corruption and various ways public can take to redress it, further awareness posters, banners , pamphlets were also distributed in Gram Sabha. To seeds the notion of Integrity in young mind a painting competition with theme of Corruption free India was organised in near by Govt. Primary School.
At Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar: Speaking on the closing day event on Sunday, Chief Guest Dr.Neelam Nega, SP, Papum Pare appreciated and thank Airport Director and AAI team for completing the Project on fast-track. He also elaborated the harmful & ill effects of Corruption on an individual in particular and Society & Nation as a whole. The students from Patila, Primary Middle School, Hollongi who won prize at Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi Itanagar had a tour of the newly constructed Airport terminal building.
The prize distribution ceremony concluded the vigilance week with feeling that Vigilance awareness is everyday task of each citizen of India towards its endeavours to make our country a nation of beautiful minds and corruption free.
Welcome speech was given by Shri Hari Lal Sarma, Assistant GM, Vigilance Dept wherein he described all the events that were organised as a part of vigilance week 2022 and declared winners of different competitions. Vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Jyoti Prasad Kakoti, Senior Manager, vigilance Deot, AAI.
