On 07th November’ 2022, the troops of Border Out Post Nandanpur, 84 Battalion while on duty observed some movement of smugglers on both sides of the fence. When the troops started advancing towards them, the smugglers fled away by taking the advantage of the darkness and tall bushes by throwing some items over the fence from Bangladesh side. Meanwhile, the smugglers who were to be received the goods also fled towards India side after seeing the troops. After reaching at the spot, the troops thoroughly searched out the area, then 01 pouch was recovered from there. When the troops opened it, 5 gold biscuits were found in it, which total weight is 583.210 grams. The estimated value of the seized gold biscuits is 30,12,279/- rupees.

The seized gold was handed over to Custom Office Karimpur, Nadia for further legal action.

The Commanding Officer of the 84 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which people indulged in activities like smuggling are facing a lot of difficulties. He further stated that the search is going on for the people indulged in this smuggling, they will be apprehended very soon.
