The Anti-Ragging Committee meeting held at Dibrugarh University on Thursday remained inconclusive. 11 students were served notice to attend the hearing held at the conference hall at the Registrar’s office of the university however only 5 students deposed before the Committee. One student appeared in person while rest four participated through Video Conferencing including the Dibrugarh University students body General Secretary Ujjal Ankur Bora.
On Friday, 6 more students will depose before the Committee. They had submitted written application seeking more time, Dibrugarh University Registrar Dr Paramananda Sonowal said.
Meanwhile, a 5-member High Power Committee recorded the statements of Registrar Paramananda Sonowal and former Chief Warden Kalyan Bhuyan. On Friday the Committee will record the statement of Vice Chancellor Jiten Hazarika. The statements of 3 former wardens will also be recorded on Friday.
The High Powered Committee was constituted on Wednesday to investigate possibility of lapses/ deficiency in dealing with matters of ragging in the University campus.
