Jwalamukhi Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Riffles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Riffles East conducted a Special Medical camp-cum-Scrup Typhus awareness drive at T/Waichong vill in Kangpokpi District of Manipur on 03 December 2022 in an attempt to provide Basic Healthcare facilities in remote areas of Manipur where Medical Infrastructure is scarce.

This Special Camp was organised with the aim to bring health-related awareness amongst the remote villages who are deprived from Basic Healthcare services and to spread awareness on both common & Special Diseases which get unoticed due to lack of awareness.

Team of Two Doctors of Jwalamukhi Battalion along with Medical Specialist Dr. Robindro, MS (Obs & Gyn) & unflinching support from local CSOs led to an exhaustive medical check up for the locals. A total of 307 civilians, including 187 women, 62 men and 58 children benefitted from the medical camp.

Under the Medical Camp, Special Facilities like testing of Scrub Typhus were made available to the locals and medicines were distributed on prescriptions of Physician, Paediatric and Gynaecologist.

The Camp commenced with an informative lecture where locals were enlightened on Basic Healthcare issues and ailments like Scrub Typhus, Thyroid, Eye Infection, Flu, Respiratory Illnesses, Blood Pressure etc. The Camp also emphasized the dissemination of information on various Government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, CM’s Health for All Scheme, among others.

Residents of T/Waichong village as well as nearby villages expressed their sincere gratitude towards the humane effort undertaken for organising a Mega Medical Camp which was immensely benefitial for the locals.
