On 06th December 2022, at 1900 hours, troops of Border Out Post Narsaripada, 141 Battalion, sensing some suspicious activity in their area, immediately they started cordoning off the area. Seeing the jawans coming towards them, the smugglers fled away by taking the advantage of thick bushes and darkness. On a thorough search of the area, 11.5 kg of ganja was recovered.
In another incident, troops of Border Out Post Tarali, 112 Battalion seized 08 kg of Ganja from their area of ​​responsibility. Smugglers were trying to take this Ganja from India to Bangladesh.
The seized Ganja was handed over to Police Station Hoogleberia and Custom Department Tantulia respectively for further legal action.
Spokesperson of the South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over this success and patted the backs of his jawans. He stated that this was only a reflection of the vigilance displayed by his jawans on duty. He has urged the people not to adopt the route of smuggling under any circumstances. He further stated in strong words that his jawans will not allow smuggling or any other type of crime to take place on the Border and will not forgive the smugglers indulged in them.
