On 06th December’ 2022, troops of Border Out Post Dobarpada, 158 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier observed some strange movement in their area. The jawans noticed that a person was moving towards the Border with a bag, then the jawans chased him and apprehended him. 100 bottles of Phensedyl were found from his possession. He was identified as Md. Alimur Sheikh, District North 24 Parganas.
During interrogation, the smuggler revealed that these Phensedyl were given to him by Shakib, resident of Bangaon and further it was to be handed over to Bangladeshi smuggler Rubel, District Jashore. He was supposed to get 10,00/– rupees for this work but the jawans had already apprehended him.
In another incident, troops of Border Out Post Dobarpara, 158 Battalion seized 400 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of ​​responsibility. Estimated value of all Phensedyl seized bottles is 1,02,655/- rupees.
The apprehended smuggler and the seized goods were handed over to Police Station Gaighata for further legal action.
The Commanding Officer of 158 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to stop smuggling along the India-Bangladesh Border. He stated in strong words that they are fully committed to stop smuggling from their area of ​​responsibility.
