On 05th January, 2023, thwarting the smuggling attempts, vigilant jawans of Border Out Post Ramchandrapur, 107 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier seized 20.5 kg of Ganja from their area of responsibility. Smugglers were trying to take this Ganja from India to Bangladesh.
In other incidents, on 04th January, 2023, troops Border Out Post Angrel, 158 Battalion, Border Out Post Bithari, 112 Battalion and Border Out Post Rajnagar, 117 Battalion seized a total of 362 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility. The estimated value of seized Phensedyl in all the cases is 67,137/- rupees.
The seized goods were handed over to Police Station Bangaon, Gaighata Custom Office Tentulia and Police Station Raninagar respectively for further legal action.
Spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier stated that smugglers try to smuggle in different ways to make their plans successful. But due to the intelligence and alertness of the troops of the Border Security Force, they could not get success.
