On the occasion of the first death anniversary of VAdm SH Sarma, PVSM (Retd), the Navy Foundation (Odisha) Chapter under the aegis of Cmde NP Pradeep, Naval Officer-in-Charge (Odisha) paid tribute to the late Flag Officer by conducting an Inaugural Memorial Seminar, themed ‘India’s Maritime Power – History, Victory and Aspiration’ at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on 07 Jan 23.
Governor of State of Odisha Prof Ganeshi Lal and RAdm Gurucharan Singh, NM, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. During the event, a Coffee Table Book and a Picture Post Card were released as a tribute to Late VAdm SH Sarma, PVSM (Retd).
The seminar was aimed at creating awareness about Maritime Heritage and the Rise of Indian Navy: Vulnerabilities and Challenges, which was attended by senior serving and retired personnel from the Navy and sister services, State Government Officials, NCC Cadets and students from various colleges of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
