To create awareness and connect the masses with the theme of India’s G20 presidency, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth, One Family, One Future”, a series of Jan Bhagidari initiatives are being organised on the sidelines of the G20 meetings. As part of this initiative the Ministry of Finance, Reserve Bank of India and Government of Assam organizeda painting and slogan writing competition at Cotton University .
100 students from various institutes wholeheartedly participated in the Painting competition and 50 students Participated in the Slogan writing competition under the G-20 theme“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.
The students got reflected on papers as variety of meaningful and artistic shapes and figures, in different hues and colors , aptly symbolizing and elaborating the theme of G20. The slogans written by the participants invigorated the imagination of all present and witnessing the event.
Officials from Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Reserve Bank of India, and State Government were present on the occasion today to encourage the students. Geetu Joshi, Advisor, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance said that “the Ministry of Finance is taking all the initiatives to take G20 to the people of Assam. She said that the enthusiastic participation of students at the painting and slogan competition shows how it is taking the theme of India’s presidency closer to the public here. This kind of activity is helping to disseminate the message of G20 among the students and they are getting the opportunity to know what the Government is aiming to do and what is important for a sustainable future”.The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
