On 30th January, 2023, football match was organized in the area of Border Out Post Sutiya, 107 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier.
In this tournament, teams from Nandan Club, Arshingiri Friends Club, Ganrapota Football Club and Village Tengra Football Club participated in Pool A. The semifinal match played between Nandan Club and Ganrapota Football Club. In this match Nandan Club won the match by 2-1 and qualified for final.
Teams from Pragati Sangh Football Club, Arshingiri Hindu Milan Sangh Club, Agardeep Football Club and Jagriti Event Football Club participated in Pool B. The semifinal match played between Jagriti Event Football Club and Pragati Union Football Club. In this match team of Pragati Sangh Football Club won with a score of 5-4 and qualified for the final.
The final match played between Nandan Club team from A pool and Pragati Sangh Football Club team from B pool. Team of Pragati Sangh Football Club won the tournament by defeating Nandan Club 5-4 in a hard fought match.
Thousands of spectators from different villages witnessed in this football tournament which lasted for 02 days. Villagers thanked BSF for organizing the football game. They said that along with security, BSF always works for the welfare and progress of the Border residents. BSF organizes such games and civic actions from time to time.
Sanjay Kumar, DIG, Sector Krishna Nagar, BSF stated that such programs are organized to build better relation between Border population and BSF. He further stated that sports play an important role in our daily life to relieve stress and improve fitness. He also stated that a beautiful future is created by playing the game with full enthusiasm.
