NHM Cachar conferred with state level special award for healthcare facilities

The National Health Mission, Rastriya Bal Swasthy Karyakram (RBSK) of Cachar district has been awarded the special award at the state level.

Cachar district was awarded a special award for treating the largest number of malnourished children under this programme.

The award was presented at the annual evaluation meeting held at Administrative Staff College, Khanapara, Guwahati on Monday.

The awards were presented by S. Lakshmi Priya, Director of National Health Mission and senior authorities of state health department.

On behalf of the district, Sub Divisional Medical and Health Officer (District Headquarters) as well as District Program Manager, NPCB, Dr. M .I Barbhuiya, District Coordinator of the said programme Ikbal Bahar Laskar, Mausami Bhowmik and others received the award on behalf of the district.

Presenting the award to the team, M S. Lakshmi Priya congratulated the team and mentioned the district as an example for other districts. “The award should inspire other districts to emulate the efforts of the Cachar administration in the fight against malnutrition” she said.

Cachar Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha also poured wishes for the team. He mentioned that the award-winning programme entailed a coordinated socio-economic approach for malnourished children of families below the poverty line.
It is to be noted that on this day various parameters of National Blindness Prevention, National Deafness Prevention, National Oral Health, Nutrition Rehabilitation, State Child Health etc. programs were reviewed throughout the day and satisfactory performance was observed in all the departments.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ashutosh Barman, Joint Director of Health, Cachar, DPM, Rahul Ghosh and other senior authorities expressed their happiness as a result of receiving the award.
