Metro Railway has carried 5,49,675 passengers in East-West Metro ( Green Line) from 31.01.2023 to 10.02.2023 during the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair. East-West Metro has been the preferred mode of transport for all book lovers as it enables them to reach ‘Boi Mela’ comfortably. Maximum daily footfalls 58267 were recorded on 09.02.2023 in this corridor. This has been a record in East-West Metro as such high daily footfalls have never been recorded before.
Out of the nearly 5.5 lakhs passenger count recorded in this period, total 4,10,971 footfalls have been recorded at three stations Sealdah, Karunamoyee and Salt Lake Sector V. During this Book Fair period, Sealdah has become the busiest station recording 203010 passenger count. Karunamoyee has recorded 121835 followed by Salt Lake Sector V with 86126 footfalls.
For the convenience of the book lovers willing to visit Book Fair, at Boimela Prangan, Salt Lake, additional Metro services are being run on this Corridor from 30th January to 12th February, 2023. Services will be available tomorrow on Sunday, the last day of the Book Fair from 12.50 hrs to 22.00 hrs.
