BSF conducts successful Civic Action Programme at Govt High School Daremath in Gandhina

On February 17, 2023, 86 Bn BSF sector Berhampur under South Bengal Frontier conducted a Civic Action Programme at Govt High School Daremath in Gandhina, which was attended by a diverse group of individuals, including the Secretary of the Red Cross Society, the Gram Pradhan and Uppradhan of the villages under BN AOR, the Principal of High School Daremath in Gandina, the Principal of BRC Pur school, the President and members of the local youth club in AOR, doctors and representatives of PHC Shikarpur and Karimpur, aspirants of the youth training programme, students of Govt High schools, representatives of the old age home in Karimpur, specially-abled people, and other needy individuals, including ladies and villagers of the villages under the AOR of the BN.

The programme, which took place from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, aimed to provide awareness and promote community service. Attendees received Various items worth Rs 11,07,240/-including cycles for needy girls, blankets for the elderly, and wheelchairs for specially-abled individuals. To address the problem of water storage, Water Tanks were given to the Gram Panchayat, and an RO plant was installed for water purification. Sports kits (mainly cricket, football, and volleyball) were provided to school children and the local youth club. Additionally, children interested in joining the security forces were given books, shoes, and track suits for their preparation. Bench desks and office tables were also provided to government schools.

The villagers and attendees highly appreciated the programme and urged BSF to organize similar events in the future.The programme concluded with the Secretary of the Red Cross Society presenting a souvenir to the Commandant of 86 BN BSF, acknowledging the role of BSF.

The Civic Action Programme is one of the many initiatives undertaken by BSF to support and serve the local population while promoting a healthy relationship between the BSF and the community. The success of the programme is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the BSF in fulfilling its responsibilities of safeguarding the nation’s borders and providing support to the local population.
