Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony 2023 is being conducted for the first time at Jorhat on 22 February 2023, to honour the bravehearts and distinguished personnel of Indian Army with Gallantry and Distinguished Service Awards. In the backdrop of the Investiture Ceremony, “Know Your Army: Equipment Display” is being organized at Jorhat Sports Stadium on 21-22 February 2023.
The purpose of the Equipment Display is to enthuse the youth and children of Jorhat and also showcase the military might and capability of Indian Army. A large assortment of military equipment ranging from Infantry Weapons, Combat Vehicles, Communication System, Artillery Guns, Air Defence Guns & Radars and Helicopters are on display for the local populace.
The event enthralled the children, students and NCC cadets with an exclusive Dog Show and performances by Military Bands. The event was attended by a large section of local population, youth, children from schools, students from colleges & universities as well as NCC cadets. It provided Jorhat city and the adjoining areas with a unique opportunity to understand the military might of our country and the ethos of our Armed Forces. The Equipment Display motivated many youngsters for joining this elite organization of our country. The local population interacted with troops thus strengthening the existing bond and bonhomie between civilians and soldiers.
Tomorrow Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM , General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command will present the gallantry and distinguished awards during the Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony at Sukapha Samannay Kshetra, Jorhat and address the media after the same.
