The incident took place on February 23, 2023, at 10:45 a.m. in the area of Border Out Post Shikarpur 86 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier. Avnoshari Ghosh (30), a pregnant woman from the village, suddenly started experiencing labor pains. When the woman’s relatives sought help from the Shikarpur Company Commander, he immediately sent a BSF ambulance along with a nursing assistant to Avnoshari Ghosh’s house. The woman was taken to the hospital and admitted to Karimpur Government Hospital. The condition of the woman is now stable.
In another incident, Mohammad Jalal Seikh (65) suddenly started having difficulty breathing at 3:30 a.m. The jawans took him to the Karimpur Government hospital in a BSF ambulance, and he is now in stable condition.
The relatives of both expressed their gratitude to the Border Security Force and said that if the BSF jawans had not helped at the right time, some big untoward could have happened.
The spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier appreciated the social work done by the BSF jawans. He stated that, along with securing the international border, the BSF jawans also serve the people with full devotion and responsibility. In any untoward incident, the BSF jawans stand shoulder to shoulder with the people.
