BSF NABS SMUGGLER WITH 1.5 LAKH BANGLADESHI TAKA ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

On March 03, 2023, jawans of Border Out Post Arshikari, 112 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, acting on reliable information, caught a smuggler red-handed while smuggling 1.5 lakh Bangladeshi taka. The smuggler was trying to cross the seized currency from India to Bangladesh.

Troops of BSF on duty observed a suspicious person who was going on a bicycle from village Bithari Bazar towards village Arshikari. When the jawans stopped and questioned him, he got nervous. On searching his cycle, 07 rolls of Bangladeshi currency were found from under the seat. The jawans immediately caught him and brought him to the Border Out Post. The apprehended smuggler has been identified as Manchur Molla (64), District North 24 Parganas.

During interrogation, Manchur Molla disclosed that he had received this currency from Aati Sardar, District North 24 Parganas. He further revealed that he was going to hand over this currency to Phojila (Female), District Satkhira, Bangladesh after crossing the BSF duty point. But BSF jawans caught him enroute. He was to get Rs 200 for this work.

The apprehended smuggler was handed over to the Custom Office, Tantulia, along with the seized goods.

Expressing satisfaction over this success, the Commanding Officer

of 112 Battalion BSF stated that our jawans are committed to stop all kinds of cross-border crimes.
