The incident took place on 3rd March of 2023 at around 1720 hrs in the area of Border Out Post Shikarpur, 86 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier. Jaidev Mandal (35), a man from Shikarpur village, was working at his house, suddenly a snake bites to him.
When the relatives of the man sought help from the Shikarpur company commander, he immediately sent a BSF ambulance along with a nursing assistant to the man’s house. From there, the he was evaluated to Government Hospital, Karimpur. The condition of the man is fine and out of danger.
The relatives of the youth expressed their gratitude to the Border Security Force and said that if the BSF jawans had not helped at the right time, some big untoward could have happened.
The Commanding Officer of 86 Battalion appreciated the social work done by the BSF jawans. He stated that along with the security of the international Border, the BSF jawans also do the security of the people with full devotion and responsibility. In any untoward incident, the jawans stand shoulder to shoulder with the people.
