BANGLADESH HOME MINISTER WITNESSES RETREAT CEREMONY PARADE AT ICP PETRAPOLE- BENAPOLE, IG,SOUTH BENGAL,BSF AND DG,BGB ALSO PARTICIPATE

The Bangladesh Home Minister, Asaduzaman Khan, arrived at the Indo-Bangladesh border crossing at ICP Petrapole-Benapole on Saturday, March 04, 2023, to witness the Retreat Ceremony Parade. The ceremony was also attended by senior officers of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

 

 

 

Upon his arrival, the Home Minister reviewed the security situation and met with the jawans of both the countries. The ceremony began with officers of both countries welcoming each other by exchanging sweets and garlanding. The Home Minister of Bangladesh praised the efforts of both the border guards in preventing illegal movement and curbing serious crimes like smuggling. He emphasized that the level of smuggling will come down to zero in the coming times and that cross-border crime is a common issue for both countries.

The newly appointed Director General of BGB, Major General A K M Najmul, also attended the ceremony, along with other senior officers of BGB. The Inspector General of South Bengal Frontier, BSF, Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, and other senior officers of the force participated on behalf of BSF.

During the event, the Home Minister of Bangladesh and BGB officials expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and for organizing the Retreat Ceremony Parade. The DG of BGB spoke of the longstanding and cordial relations between the two countries and stated that India is always with Bangladesh and that they are with India in any kind of decision.

The Inspector General of South Bengal Frontier, BSF, highlighted the importance of organizing events like the Retreat Ceremony Parade and weapon exhibition for children as it helps in creating awareness about the rules and defense of the border by the jawans of both the countries.

The event ended on a positive note with the Home Minister of Bangladesh and BGB officials expressing their hope that the friendship between India and Bangladesh will remain forever.
