BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier foiled the plans of smugglers and seized 1,036 bottles of Phensedyl and 12.8 kg of Ganja from their area of ​​responsibility along the Indo-Bangladesh International Border. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl bottles is Rs. 2,12,701/-.

The incident took place on March 16, 2023 in the area of ​​BSF’s Border Out Post Boltala, 118 Battalion and Border Out Post Kalupota, 153 Battalion. Acting on intelligence, when the jawans on duty sensed some suspicious activity, they immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. During the search, the smugglers present in the area fled taking advantage of the thick darkness. On the spot, the jawans recovered 400 bottles of Phensedyl from the area of ​​the Border Out Post Boltala and 12.8 kg of Ganja from the border post Kalupota.

In other incidents, jawans of Border Out Post Peshbari, 70 Battalion, Border Outposts Vijaymath and Rani Nagar, 86 Battalion, Border Outposts Mihir, Bithari and Kalanchi, 112 Battalion and Border Outposts Sirsi, 44 Battalion seized 636 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of ​​responsibility.

The seized goods were handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.

Expressing satisfaction over the success of the jawans, the spokesperson of the South Bengal Frontier appreciated them a lot. He stated that this is only a reflection of the vigilance displayed by the BSF jawans on duty. He has urged the people not to adopt the route of smuggling under any circumstances. He stated in strong words that BSF jawans will not allow smuggling or any other type of crime to take place on the border and will not spare the persons involved in it.
