BSF SEIZES FISH EGGS WORTH RS 7.2 LAKH ON THE INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

(District: North 24 Parganas)

On April 3, 2023, vigilant troops of Border Out Post Ranghat, 68 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, conducted a special operation based on concrete information. They seized 48 plastic bags containing fish eggs worth Rs. 7,20,000/- that were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh in their responsibility area.

The jawans on duty noticed some suspicious movement of smugglers in their area. When challenged by BSF troops, the smugglers left the bags and escaped from the spot, taking advantage of the darkness and thick vegetation.

The seized fish eggs were handed over to Police Station Bagdah for further legal action.

The spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier expressed his happiness over the achievement of the BSF jawans, stating that this displays the vigilance of BSF jawans on duty. He urged the border people not to get involved in smuggling activities under any circumstances. BSF jawans will not allow smuggling or any other kind of crime to take place on the border under any circumstances, and no one will be spared if found involved in smuggling or trans-border crimes.
