BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier foiling the plans of smugglers, seized 416 bottles of Phensedyl from their responsibility areas along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl bottles is Rs. 85,409/-.
Acting on reliable information, on 03rd April 2023, at about 0510 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Bithari, 112 Battalion, observed suspicious movement of some smugglers in their area of responsibility. On being challenged by BSF jawans, smugglers escaped taking advantage of darkness and dense paddy field. On thorough search of the area, jawans recovered 08 plastic bags (potlas) containing 200 bottles of Phensedyl from the paddy field.
Apart from this, jawans of Border Out Post Gobardha, 153 Battalion, Border Out Post Tungi, 54 Battalion and Border Out Post Madhupur, 68 Battalion have seized a total of 216 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility.
Seized Phensedyl bottles were handed over to concerned agencies for further legal action.
Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier stated that smugglers adopt different tactics to carry out smuggling activities. BSF personnel are guarding the borders 24×7 hrs and are committed to stop all sorts of smuggling activities across the border. Due to which people involved in crimes like smuggling are being caught continuously.
