BSF SEIZES GANJA AND PHENSEDYL ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

Border Security Force (BSF) troops under South Bengal Frontier successfully foiled the plans of smugglers and seized 01 kg of Ganja and 506 bottles of Phensedyl from different areas along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl bottles is Rs.1,03,886/-.

On April 19, 2023, troops of Border Outpost Pyaasbari, 70 Battalion personnel noticed suspicious movement of some smugglers on both sides of the International Border. When the jawans started moving towards the smugglers, they fled from the spot taking advantage of the thick darkness and bushes. During a thorough search of the area, the jawans recovered 400 bottles of Phensedyl from the spot.

In other incidents, jawans of Border Post Lodhia, 70 Battalion, Border Out Post Kalupota 1, 153 Battalion seized a total of 106 bottles of Phensedyl and 01 kg of Ganja from their area of responsibility along the border.

The seized Ganja and Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.

The spokesperson for South Bengal Frontier, BSF expressed happiness over the achievement of the BSF jawans and stated that the Border Security Force has always been vigilant and adopting various operational measures to prevent smuggling along the border. The BSF has intensified its operations against smuggling and will continue to take effective measures to maintain peace and security along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
