On April 20, 2023, the jawans of Border Outposts Mahindra and Puttikhali, 08 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier organized civic action programs in rural areas along the border.
The event saw school children from villages Fatepur, Noonaganj, Puttikhali, and Nalpur actively participating in the program. The jawans of BSF distributed sports material to youth clubs and distributed one high mask solar light to each village. Additionally, the BSF distributed wheelchairs to two divyang individuals. The distribution of goods was valued at approximately Rs 2 lakh.
The program received an overwhelming response from the villagers, including Anganwadi members, village members, school principals, and youths from different youth clubs. They highly praised the BSF for its humanitarian work and urged the force to organize such programs in the future.
The Commanding Officer of the 08 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is always ahead to cooperate with the border residents. He further emphasized that the main objective of such events is to strengthen mutual cooperation and coordination between the BSF and the villagers living on the border.Such initiatives by the BSF will go a long way in building strong and meaningful relationships with the border residents.
