On the occasion of World Earth Day an Entrepreneurship on skill development and Vanilla cultivation held at Margherita Buddha Vihar premises which was organised by Margherita Buddha Vihar Dhamma Sangini trust in association with EDEN(Education for Environment) Tinsukia.
Rajarshi Das secretary of EDEN, Education for Environment, Tinsukia, Moumita Saha PGT Commerce Budding Buds Senior Secondary School, Tinsukia, Dr Nandita Roy Assistant Professor department of Mathematics Tinsukia College and Gyanowada Bhikkhu head monk of Margherita Buddha Vihar were the main persons for whom this great concept was able held on the occasion of World Earth Day.
Rajarshi Das said that Assam is rich in it’s biodiversity where every flora can be easily cultivated and through vanilla orchid plantation one can earn huge amount of money if it is done in a proper way.
Spice Board of India ministry of commerce and Industry Government of India has given importance for vanilla cultivation as Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have vast production of vanilla started since 90’s which we are unaware of vanilla orchid cultivation but we have fertile soil for cultivation where in the market vanilla orchid cost Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 per kg said Rajarshi Das.
Rajarshi Das said that through vanilla orchid plantation unemployment can be eradicate from our society and nation and Spice Board of India shall cooperate to one who do vanilla orchid cultivation.
On this occasion more than 100 people from all round the Margherita region participated such as Asom Gaurav awardee Bobby Hazarika, AASAA central committee vice president Ramanus Lakra, Children Friends Club(NGO) president Papu Sah, Sanjeevani North East(NGO) Margherita Ramesh Hatimuria,Rana Dutta and Kishore Mech, Community resource person(NULM) of Margherita Bondita Chetia Borah, various cultivators from Tinsukia district, media persons of Margherita and many other organisation leaders were present.
Gyanowada Bhikkhu head monk of Margherita Buddha Vihar said that it is the first time that Entrepreneurship and skill development on vanilla cultivation held at Margherita which I hope that Assam Government and Spice Board of India shall take positive initiative for vanilla orchid cultivation at Assam.
